Hi Barbara and all at SS rescue,
Five weeks today, I came to live in my new home and have now got my feet firmly under the table. My new minders/servants have been won round to my way of thinking and we're so happy together. They changed my name from Vince to Harry - I showed them how smart I am by learning that very quickly. Seems I'm a wonderful dog in the house, so well behaved - not a thing out of place - if you forget about the mess I carry in from the garden - still, what's a bit of dirt when they have such a lovely boy. As for my outings - I run wild every day in the woods and finish off with a swin to do something called cleaning off. Swimming is just my favourite - and I am nearly as fast at that as running. I usually come back when called but sometimes what's a lad to do when the scents are so inviting, and a few more minutes running is irrestible. In the last few days I've got the hang of staying with dad though. I've also been on something called motorhoming - was my usual well behaved self, I am such a bright boy and learning new things all the time. Off on my jollys for 3 weeks soon, have heard mention of lots of beaches for me, will send a postcard.
Love to all, Harry.

hello everyone at springer rescue, big wags and licks to mummy barbara from ollie and jimmi.
we are doing really well and are very happy, little jimmi is still finding his inner springer everyday which we all enjoy, hes so different to the scared little chap we first met :-) Mummy lara was ill and had a big operation so we couldnt jump on her and she couldnt walk far but we all still went out and played ball and went swimming lots, shes lots better now and we can give her big hugs and cuddles on the sofa and bed which we know she loves, also mummy is thinking of getting another springer so there can be 3 of us, once she is more better , anyway i can smell bonio's for me and jimmi,
love, wags and licks from ollie and jimm

Do spaniels need lot's of excercise? I will be able to take him out in the mornings for a little run for about 20 minutes and then in the evenings for about 45 mins, but im not sure about during the day.
We live in a flat, but have space around the front of the flats so the dog can run around a bit with me. We have a garden but not suitable for a dog. Is this the right choice?

My first ex.perience of a springer was by accident. i wanted a dog that wanted lots of excercise as i am very active myself. The local kennels gave me the name and number of someone that was looking for a home for a failed gun dog. Ben was just 2 years old and very clever. He was adorable, funny, clever and a wonderful dog that we all loved, Disaster struck after a couple of months, his immune system broke down and despite blood transfusions and huge vets bills he couldn't be saved. we loved him so much that we slept with him on the kitchen floor until he passed away. We were all absolutely devasted. we burried him in the garden under a cherry tree, facing the moors. My love for springers was born and we rescued a second one called oscar 6 months ago aged 18 months. He is fantastic and so loving. He literaly hugs you. he is like a baby. we have 2 other dogs that he plays and lives orttside with. I feel such love and affection for springers that i would like to start a springer rescue in devon.

Dear springer Spaniel Rescue, I like your site, as i have a 20 month old springer dog. He's of the working variety. Obviously he gets bored a lot. i don't work so I've been able to walk him five or six times a day. i have been thinking of re-homing him, but I intend to soldier on for a while. i don't want to give up on my lovely pet just yet.

i have e-mailed another message but i will answer the questions here.
we have no children living at home but they visit and are both in there 20s our daughter is pregnant and so we will have a grandchild later in the year.
We have no pets now as we lost our best mate Milo last november at 9 years old due to a kidney failure. milo loved boating walks and going to the beach. His home was his castle and he loved prowling around the garden and laying in the sunshine. we have a pool in the garden but he never liked to go in but at the beach he wouldnt come out of the sea as he could walk in.
We both work and the dog would be left in a secure garden for the day but milo also used to come to work with me aswell as we have a warehouse and land at the side.
Our vet is in silves and is called jabuvet. they was wonderful with us and milo when he was ill.
The phone number for ourselves is 00351 282342062. or 00351 927426922(mobile).
we could give a rescue dog or 2 a very good home and a lot of love. we would prefer a male dog upto about 2.5 years old the younger the better for training.
please contact me if you can help
regards
